Microelectronic-US is the U.S. headquarters of Swiss semiconductor maker
EM Microelectronic.EM Microelectronic develops and manufactures ultra-low-power
integrated circuits for customers worldwide. It is a subsidiary of The
Swatch Group Ltd., the worlds largest manufacturer of finished watches.
Challenge
EM
came to Origin to develop its corporate identity and develop new collateral,
Web site and sales materials. EM wanted to maintain its ties to its Swiss
parent company and the Swatch group while adopting a unique identity that
conveyed a distinctly North American look and feel. Origin took on the
challenge of translating an existing Swiss brand and positioning EM as
a premier provider for semiconductor solutions.
Strategies
Origin
created a unique identity for EM by expanding on design elements of the
existing brand, developing a complementary color palette and balancing
imagery with information. The resulting identity is sophisticated, sleek
and functional, showcasing EMs low-power, high performance value
without sacrificing visual appeal.
Results
Origins
design has firmly established EMs brand image, and the look has
been integrated into every facet of EMs marketing, including advertising.
EMs parent company officials liked the design so much, they requested
many of the design elements and integrated them into their own Web site.
